With the season now well underway and catfish throwing themselves on your hooks,
 I just thought it might be time to get an idea of how everyone's been doing this spring.

How about a section for:
Only caught one so far but it was 43lb 4oz. Or one for :: I aint caught much but landed loads for Ashley. Or one for: Not caught much but have landed a load of Snags and what I have caught came in backwards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Difficult question that one!
Have done 14 nights so far over 4 sessions. Have blanked on 3 of those sessions  but have had a new PB of 46.10 so
well pleased with that 
Would like to have caught more fish (3 in total) but well chuffed with the PB. Still early doors yet. |

Rubbish : Only managed one session in 09.
Brilliant : Six cats on that trip. Five doubles and a 31lb.

Been out for a few day sessions, blanked every time, missed one pick up on a deadbait. just got back from 48 hours at lakemore on long lake, had about 12-14
'takes' only connected with 2 fish, one pulled me towards the island and i had to just lock everything up and hope for the best - hook pulled out and
the other took me straight into a snag and i snapped off. absolutley gutted as several other people caught cats to 32lb while i was there, all of whom were
fishing for '+@@@ or cats' with +@@@ rigs and boilies............... one guy had no idea what he was doing when he landed his cat so i had to really
help him out with handling / weighing / photos and i returned it for him because he was too nervous to pick it up. fair play he did ask for help as there was a
2 foot drop to the water and he wanted to look after the fish, so i picked it up by the lower jaw, supported the tail end and laid down to put it back for him.
it has to happen for me at some point this season...... doesnt it???? |

Just thought I`de mention that my luck appears to have changed at last
.Got back today from a 24hr session, had two fish 43.8 and 25.8.
.
Dont know if you noticed on an earlier post the slanderous and facecious remarks made by a certain Mr Richardson30 re: a section for "Not caught much but have landed a load of snags and what I have caught came in backwards". Well would you believe it but I just spent the last 24hrs in the company of this esteemed Gentleman and guess what? he only went and hooked a right tidy Cat and lost it because...... Ahem! wait for it....his knot came undone  . Any forum members who can help the poor old git to tie a hook on properly would
be most welcome. Dont make the knots too complicated tho cos he`s got podgy fingers and his kid will have to help him.

. nice result buddy . sad news about the loss of the other cat .oh well never

Well pleased so far, only done 2 sessions on Linford PF2 , 1x30 , 2x 50 , 1x 70 and a decent pike so yeah, haulin, ish. But i know that Crackers, next month ,
will bring me back down to earth , i just dont do pellet catting . Chris.

Hiya Mark,yea Im keeping my fingers crossed that my change of luck is gonna hold, mind you the bigger fish did find a snag but the line pinged loose, Phwooo!.
I am a BIT sorry for Roy losing that fish cos its hard enough hooking one in the first place and then to find a knot has let you down is so disappointing.Im
just going to have to get him to take those nasty remarks back before I feel completely sorry.
. Roy and Ash are still at the lake so with a bit of luck they cracked it last
night, lets hope so.
Oops! sorry marginman,nearly forgot, thats some start to the season you are having.What bait was it you said you were using ? .Well done,try to keep it going.

Excellent angling Chris. If you ever want to rent your debenture out for a year, let me know. Only five cats so far for me , but two have been over 45 so well chuffed. |

Secret waters, secret baits, Shhhhhh... Keith keeps it under his hat !!! Gerry, small bream livos does it for me, well 6/7oz or 11/12" tiny livos only get
pike, thou i did have an 18.06 in april , best pike all year. Phil you can use my dentures next season if you want, ill find out how to arrange transfer. I
need to get to know my local waters now, I now live about 10 mile from Willowbank , yet havent fished there sinse 95 . see you in Wales. Chris.

Dont know about a grinner knot but gerry was grinning from ear to ear, finally hooked something that was not a tree or in the tail!!
Well done, glad we were there to see it, we had a celebratory pint or 2 in your honour, nothing to do with the heat! |

Gerry, It was a pleasure to be in your esteemed company. Sir. Please forgive the rash foolishness of youth in my earlier rambling about snags and backward fish etc. It was just the impetuosity of youth and totally disrespectful. That was a bit of a bugger Roy not getting anymore runs, I really thought one of you was on a winner there,specially the ones you had close in. What are you going to do about that line ?.
