Fished Grafton Mere yesterday for a day session, fished 5.45am until about 7pm. Had 3 fish out, a 22lb 12oz fish on mackerel tail from the margins at 10am.
Then a 23lb 4oz fish from my other margin on luncheon meat at about 2.30pm. I then changed one of my rods to a dumbell rig and fished a mackerel tail about
4-5 rodlengths out into the lake about 6-8 inches deep and had my last fish of 27lb 4oz (PB) at about 3.30pm. All the fish put up a great scrap and did their
best to pull my arm out of its socket. I caught it just right yesterday, a %!%% angler had a 15lb cat out and a bloke fishing opposite me lost a cat that he
couldnt stop, though it didnt look like his gear was anywhere near up to the job.
What a great session, and now my season has gone from being a potential distaster to one with 4 20lb plus fish, this catfishing is amazing isnt it!?! It re-assures me that my methods and rigs are pretty sound when i have a session like the one yesterday.
