Hi Micky, which lake are you looking to fish as you cant get two more different lakes than Tiddy and Claydon?

I cant speak for Tiddy or Rackley only rumours so no offence anyone.
Tiddy - My mate had a few big puss out, only by putting in the hours and putting up with +%@* heads, skunk monkeys, gypsies and parking somewhere else. Rackley - Selective waiting list, sleep with commitee members daughters or fish it out of season when theyve had enough. Claydon - I have fished lightly for the last five years and have seen some sights. I can leave home and have 2 rods out at claydon within half an hour so it is convenient for me. I only normally fish it for the last 2 hours before kicking of time. All the usual baits work, find something they like and everyone will be on it, find a swim away from the tight lines (if you can), can get very busy. I popped over there last night with a pal - unusually quite, first angler we came to was chatting to his mate at least 50 yards away from his rods. We set up down the other end next to 2 lads that cast in and out at least 15 times between them in the hour and a half we were there. You will meet some sound anglers over there and some complete muppets. If your going for a day pick a miserable rainy day for more peace and more runs. Described at ccg meetings as a puddle in a field, bit of a trek through cow turd, people tightening up on bite alarms all over the place (why they need bite alarms on a day only lake ill never know), kids and families during holidays, people casting at your margin (or at you) i could go on and on. Despite this, you can get the odd relaxing evening over there, claydon is where i caught my first cat and i hope its where i catch my last. Once again no offence to any one, there are members from rackley on here that can give you the real story. Hope this helps, i could go on but it will get boring. Steve |

I have definately had different experiences of Tiddy and Claydon than you then Steve. Claydon does get busy but i have never had issues with people casting
into my swim, excessively loud alarms etc. i also think that kids being there, which you seem to find objectionable, is the very thing that may ensure the
future of our sport. You also moan about the walk, what do you want a commercial where you can park behind your swim but get hammered every day?
I havent fished Tiddy as much as Claydon but have never had any major issues there. Granted there used to be problems but they seem to have sorted it out now. Last time i was there the guys a few pegs down did have a bit of a social, it was a bit noisy but nothing over the top, They also lent me a barrow to bring all my gear to my swim, as i didnt have room in the car for mine. I found the guys that were fishing it it be a very friendly bunch and am thinking about fishing it again this year. |

dodgy leaving your motor there.

I love seeing kids fishing dave, my boy caught his first kitten over there when he was three years old. Its when the parents dont control them that winds me
up. As for the walk i love walking down that field just hate the walk of shame back if you do get a blank and cow turd on your boots.
Tiddy - Didnt the bailif have the %@*% kicked out of him by 2 anglers last year ? - not for me. Im just trying to give micky the picture, i dont post often just sit back and learn from you guys but i saw 90 odd people had viewed mickys post and not replied so i thought i would try and help. Steve |

Fished Claydon for the first time last year. Only had the one cat out but love fishing there and still learning. As has been said before, most of the guys are
friendly and are free with advice.
I haven't fished Tiddenfoot, but had a walk round it a couple of weeks ago. Apparently it gets absolutely rammed at weekends. If you plan to fish the weekend apparently you have to get there by Wednesday to get a swim, so is a bit of a no go for me as I can really only do weekends! Will be back to Claydon this Saturday, first session there on this years ticket, so fingers crossed. |
