I'm after a new bivvy for this season and i am thinking of getting a Armodillo mk2, just wondered if anyone else has one or has used one, are they as good
as they are made out to be? for the money they cost are they really that much better?

I own a MK2 and it very good BUT I got rid of the specimen mk1 offering from Trakker and wish I had kept it for quick overnighters due its lighter weight.

Hi mate, i had the 2man mk2, brilliant bivvy, had it for 3 years and never had a problem, untill I had to fish an uneven peg and ripped it where the peg
elastic is attached, i repaired it with seam grip and it is good as new. You will have to apply some water repellent after a couple of years tho, but thats
only a fiver.
Sayin all that, I sold mine and got myself the Aqua mk3, I have to say, the material seems a lot stronger. Defo consider the aqua mate. Whichever one you get, unless you have the winter skin, you will get condensation. As brian says tho, if you don't need the space (me and my dog like our space) the pioneer untralight is the best on the market. Keep at EM,

Surely a brolly is all you need six tent pegs two bank sticks how to travel light, if the wind changes ten seconds later your back comfertable again it will
fit into any swim you want to fish no matter how small the swim. The good thing about these brolly systems know there that cheap if they last one winter youve
had your moneys worth, santa brings me a new one every year, some good ones to mention are nash"s, j,r,c stealth, aqua products too do a good un,some of
these bivvys need a trolly just for them they weigh a ton and need twenty bivvy pegs too,me personally i use a brolly, each to there own mind.ken

Its a cracking bivvy, had mine a couple of years now, and wouldnt part with it. Having said that, I hardly use it, I use a simple Fox shelter thing for all my
summer / autumn fishing. Its light, quick to erect and doesnt need a barrow to cart it round.
If you want to treat yourself, or are planning some winter / long stay sessions, you wont go wrong with the MkII........although the M3 does look good..... |

Have a look at the Trakker Trident, same as the Armo MK2 but the front panel zips off, Think the Aqua MK3 does the same?? I've had the Trident for about 3
months now & cant fault it! Quick to set up too
you can pick them up on fleabay new for good prices now

that is
.My first one was faulty and fosters exchanged it after my 1st time out with it on my regular pool british weather |

i have never had one mate but i thought they were very heavy when i looked at buying a new bivvy.. in the end i went for a Nash Titan Viper.. solid as a rock
mate but bit smaller than the armadillo.
i tend to just use an oval brolly unless i am going for 3+ nights though, unless the weather looks bad or i need the security.. jrc stealth is good for the money. or as pikin said, the pioneer ultralites are a top bit of kit. marc |

Have a look at the Razorback shelter from Venture %*!!, (in the breathable material).
Had mine for a couple of seasons, very very light, packs up small, goes up quick ( it honestly takes me longer to put the pegs in the ground) and a strong material. For me, all the benefits for quick overnighters where i actually bother to put up a shelter, but with bags more coverage than an a brolly . You won't be disappointed, (a few have seen it then went off an bought one-nuff said). |
