Whilst i was fishing adams this year the question of work that needs carrying out on the pegs at adams raised its head
Is it possible to arrange a meeting one weekend up at adams to see what works need doing , myself and chris sometimes have half a day to make up and its not worth starting a new job and we have often talked about that we could be up at adams trimming bushes or possibly having a look at buliding up stones so it doesn't go underwater which got me thinking
I know a few people have said that the pegs are tight , not a lot can be done there i think , the main problem is i think that 2 or 3 pegs go underwater when the stream entering gets flooded so work needs to be done to raise them to keep them fishable
I am sure there are members that would give a hand if only we knew what was to be done hence me asking to arrange a meeting of members up at adams so we can look at each peg and the pool in general to see what is to be done and bandy some ideas around so when a member has time they can do a bit of maintenance without upsetting the farmer or landowner
Now i know some members live a fair way from adams and possibly wouldn't want to drive to alcester just for a meeting so if you have point to make or suggestion post it in this thread for discussion
I live locally so am lucky i suppose, and as i have only just discovered adams , this being my first season , i dont want to see it go the way of many fisheries and get lost to fishing because of poor maintenance , once a fishery falls into disrepair it can be lost because of the work needed to bring it back to its best, i have seen it happen to a couple of fisheries near me , hence this post
As i understand it , every member is responsible for the pool and not left to one or two members to sort out pegs etc Perhaps i am wrong but as i understand it a syndicate means every member is a baliff to some degree and is responsible for the running of the fishery ?
Anyway i thought of a couple of things that could be done , now some work has already been carried out trimming back some of the willow branches that overhand pegs which is good , but they are just pushed into the hedge or back behind the pegs , now i think we are missing a trick, the branches could be taken up to the car park end and put through a shredder for mulch which can go back onto the paths or in the pegs A shredder can be hired for as a little as 20 pound a day and would make short work of the 1- 2 inch willow sprigs
Also the stream that enters adams could do with digging out or at least a hole dug to allow silt to settle in the stream rather that adams itself , this may go someway to stopping that horrible orange water entering or at least may cut it down a bit ?
Anyway theres a couple of suggestions to kick it off What other suggestions are there and can we get a bank side meeting arranged ????

Mind you you're ok to take so much as you normally have you/re manservant
in tow! By the way don't leave me with him again or i won't be responsible for what may happen - you talk fishing to him then half an hour later
he's either repeating it back to you as if it's his idea or more annoying passing it off as his own thoughts to Tony, Craig, Bob, Jake the
bailliff....the list goes on.
