Netting of the lower Ebro?

Does anybody know if there is any truth that the lower Ebro is to have nets strung all along it and all the cats, and other non native species removed?
i have got 2 weeks booked for next year in Amposta and Tortosa but will have to re-plan if this is the case.

Looking for recommended company's for a weeks fishing in France. want to go for a week fishing for cat, %*!* and sturgeon. any recommendations or ones to steer clear of would be much appreciated. would be nice to have sole use of the lake.

hi just returned from a weeks fishing at red hot lakes vivver highly recomended great place and great fishing losts of small fish best two 74 lb and new lake record of 104 lb ian the owner said if i catch one over the ton i get a free holiday next year highly recomended thanks jaggs

Just got back from Mequinenza on a guided tour with Catmaster Tours another excellent week with their guide Ashley Scott who couldnt do enough for us.
We fished on the front right in town to start with but got kicked off because they were holding the spanish national fishing festival for three days on there.

We had 21 cats 7 fish over 100 they were 125 138 141 145 155 156 166 i was the only one of our group to not have a 100 but we managed to get back on the...

After the last couple of years of trying different locations, methods and tactics etc, I am now getting more and more confident of a Cat from the river on most weekend long trips. My last trip 2 weeks ago, saw me bank 5 Cats in 3 nights, plus find out a new method that I am going to try in a couple of weeks that might bag me a few more !!!
Frances rivers are getting better by the year.

Haven't posted for awhile because work is severely limiting my catting activities time-wise, but I follow the forum regularly and I wish you all the best for this season. I'm off to France in July in my camper and wondered if anyone has had experience of a good Cat venue (not after records, just fun) with camping facilities ?

Any advice would be appreicated.

Catfish sizing from length

Hi there

Ive just come back from a week on the Saone. I caught my new PB while over there with a fish well over 100lb. We estimated it to be 130lb. The length of it was 299cm and the girth 115cm and wondered if anyone knew how to get a fairly accurate estimate on size.

Our weigh sling handles broke under the load so couldnt weight it properly.

Looking at Simon's book it has an average length / weight chart which would pitch it around the 150/160lb...

Saone / Doubs polluted - FISHING BANNED?

Has anyone heard about the Saone and Doubs in France.

I am hearing that fishing is banned or is about to be banned at the moment due to pollution by PCBs.

Can anyone confirm this at all?

I have a trip planned in April :'(

Just a note to say we have one week left on the Kingfisher Lake, May 23rd-30th.
Further information www.carpfrance.com season 2008 the average cat was 90lbs.

I am not writing this because I am C rap at clonking as Simon or Richard will tell you. But I feel there is a detail missing.
Yes clonking works but I also feel that some repetitive vibration that travels through water will work just as well.
My reason for the statement above is. I had to change the alloy rowing boat that we used on the Kingfisher Lake to a plastic boat, the reason the cats kept on attacking the alloy one....
